Web Worker Daily has a decent conversation going on about the future of some sort of GTD or Task app at Google.

We just did a roll-out on Remember The Milk at work this week. We’re now sharing our first Task List between about 30% of our workforce. Most of us are using Gmail and Calendar integration and some of the other third-party services. There are a few things I would like to see different – like being able to exclude certain lists from your Gmail view so you didn’t have one crowded list clogging up your regular list. One solution would be to have just two lists – the Shared List and Other List and switch between the two – but that defeats the purpose of multiple lists. I’ll find a way, and when I do I’ll share it.

A very good point was made about whether Google will do something like acquire RTM like they did with Grand Central, and that point was “Why should they?”. The reality is that RTM may have hurt their chances of acqusition by being so damned good at what they do. If you haven’t checked them out yet, then you ought to. It’s a great way to organize. Like all new systems, it takes a little adjustment – but it’s worth it to be able to manage all parts of life in one system.
