I have the regular wrt54g with non-linux proprietary vxworks crap… flashed dd-wrt a few months ago and experienced the same epiphany… only problem I’ve run into is the extra memory dd-wrt uses leaves less space for the connection table which quickly fills up when running “certain programs” that share files. I had to drop the max connections down to about half of the default.
